As far as a health professional, a nurse is delegated the most crucial responsibility of the physical, psychological and emotional care of the patient. Health care industry depends heavily on the nursing. As well as hospitalized patient is concerned, a nurse is more involved in his service than any other medical or allied force for its service delivery and competed nurse are the most important assets in any medical establishment.

The professional nurse plays role as a client advocate, an educator, a team leader and accountable for providing quality care for those who are under his /her care.

The nursing job requires adaptability to the schedule, taking up instruction, working in a team, even working in odd hours and making appropriate observations and render care priority wise.

The word NURSING came from the word “nutritious” which means to cherish , to protect, to support, to sustain, to train, to educate and to supply with things essential for growth. Ms. Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) made emphasis on the preparation of individual who care for sick and promote health of individual and society.
